The Cam Newton investigation isn’t limited to the NCAA, as it was reported that the FBI wanted to get involved as well, in order to gain information on whether “young men are being shopped to colleges.”
According to the attorney of John Bond, the FBI interviewed Bond, the man who started the whole saga with accusations that Newton himself was shopped to Mississippi State, over the matter.
Phil Abernathy wrote in an e-mail that Bond “cooperated fully” with both federal and state investigators and had no further comment, citing the “ongoing nature” of the investigation.
